Chandra Weising, MSW, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Chandra Weising has been working with children and families since 1996. She earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan and completed the University's CIVITAS Child and Family Program - a national initiative to educate and train professionals to work directly with abused and neglected children.

Chandra trained under art therapists and child life specialists to specifically focus on children and loss. She was a hospice social worker, where she helped children experiencing the loss of a parent or other family member. Two of the approaches she uses with children are art and play therapy. She has also led several groups for young children, school-aged children, and teens. Chandra is also available to work with adults experiencing grief and loss issues.

Chandra worked as program coordinator for a home-based psychiatric crisis stabilization team on the north shore of Boston, Massachusetts, until 2005. She worked with children and their families who struggled with many difficult issues including abused and neglected, divorced, depression, anxiety, and self-injurious behaviors.

Chandra understands how overwhelming life can feel at times as she is the mother of a child with Type 1 diabetes (an autoimmune disease) whose illness requires constant monitoring and attention. She has become a "mentor mom" with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Her personal understanding of the ways serious chronic childhood illnesses affect children and families has led Chandra to expand her practice to include these families. She is blessed to be working with the children, their siblings and parents who are overwhelmed by the challenges illness has brought to their lives.

Chandra incorporates creative and effective approaches that work with children, adults, and families. She will work with you to build on your family's strengths to create joy again in your home.
